I know what the fight is like. I know how weary and long it can be because I have been there. Though it may seem like you will always be in the dark and painful place in which you find yourself, remember that your circumstances will change, just as surely as the seasons change. No one knows the day or hour in which your fight may end, but keep your eyes on the prize. In your all-consuming, soul-baring pain, do not forget that God holds you in His hands. He will not let you go, and He will not fail you. He loves you with an unconditional, eternal love from which no one can separate you. So, rest if you must–rest in the shadow of His wings, lay your weary head on His more-than-enough shoulders, cry if you need to–but do not quit! The battle will never be won if you quit! Don’t give up! Keep fighting! Fight with all you have in you, and once you have done all you can do, continue to stand (Ephesians 6:13). You will never see the prize if you forego the race.
Hebrews: 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (NIV)
I am adding a video of a song that ministered to me very much during the dark years of my husband’s affair. Listen to the words and let the message of the song speak to you. Press on!
